Ramazan Transmission and Game Shows on TV Just to Make You Fool

Whenever a Holy month of Ramazan starts in Pakistan. A lot of apparel brands known and unknown wants to get a piece of cake which means a small market share. In other words, we can say that everyone wants to sale his products “Apna Manjjan bechna hy”.

Few years ago, a trend was stated by a religious scholar Dr Amir Liaqat on his ramazan transmission show to give free products on ordinary questions and just to promote the show. I know you will remember some taglines “Firdos ki lawn apki howi”, “Q mobile apka howa”, “Saeed Ghani k perfumes”, “Master paint ka gift hamper”, “Unique ki bike”.

It was a bid surprising for me like all of you that how he is giving free products. How’s that possible. There must be something dramatic behind all these promotions. But I was somehow wrong. Because they were actually giving those products. When I come to know that how these things work it was surprising for me that how these small activities create a perception and positive word of mouth about that particular brand.  
Well, in Ramazan as I said every brand wants to sell his products whether they are apparels, motor bikes, mobile phones, laptops, cold drinks or anything else. How to reach the customers is most important in all these circumstances. So, bill board owners charge you a lot because they knew that it’s a time when everyone wants to promote his product. Digital media also cost you a lot and again reach and frequency impact counts a lot.

So, what these brands love to do they start sponsoring the high rated TRPs TV shows, to get maximum brand awareness and perception in the mind of customer. So, here comes the “Firdos ki lawn”, “Q mobile”, Unique ki bike”, “Umray ka Ticket”. In other words, we can say that its all about marketing tactics. But we as an illiterate nation starts purchasing from these brands and double their sales. On the other hand, these brands are minting money regardless of the quality they are offering and prices as well.

Recently in this Ramazan Bonanza is sponsoring a TV show named “Salam Zindagi” in which one of the top TV actor “Faisal Qureshi” wear the dresses of Bonanza and mention the name a lot of times during show that today I am wearing Bonanza. So, people like celebrity followers starts purchasing dresses from Bonanza. Same goes with “Waseem Badami” a Pakistani journalist and TV host using the dresses of “J.” in his Ramazan transmission.

I would say it makes no sense regarding giving free products to Pakistani people. It is just a new marketing tactics and you cannot imagine how much money these brands are getting by using these campaigns.
